Dark Matter eLiquid
Enjoy the wonderful flavor of our latest VapeSafe eLiquid - Dark Matter.
Dark Matter tastes like German chocolate cake. For those of you who have not had the fortunate to try a piece German chocolate cake recently, this is a great way to experience the flavor without getting any of the calories. German chocolate cake is a layered cake filled and topped with a coconut-pecan frosting. Traditionally sweet baking chocolate is used for the chocolate flavor in the actual cake. The robust filling and topping is a caramel made with egg yolks and evaporated milk. Once the caramel is cooked, coconut and pecans are stirred into the mixture. Finally, rich chocolate frosting is spread around the sides of the cake to hold in the filling.
Dark Matter eLiquid by VapeSafe captures the essence of German chocolate cake. Dark Matter eLiquid delivers plumes of vapor and rich chocolatey flavor that you'll want to enjoy again and again. Try Dark Matter today!

Description
In a city where someone is murdered almost every day, attorney Michael Abramowitz's death should be just another statistic. But the slain lawyer's notoriety—and his taste for illicit midday trysts—makes the case front-page news in every local paper except the Star, which crashed and burned before Abramowitz did.
A former Star reporter who knows every inch of this town—from historic Fort McHenry to the crumbling projects of Cherry Hill—now-unemployed journalist Tess Monaghan also knows the primary suspect: cuckolded fiancé Darryl "Rock" Paxton. The time is ripe for a career move, so when rowing buddy Rock wants to hire her to do some unorthodox snooping to help clear his name, Tess agrees. But there are lethal secrets hiding in the Charm City shadows. And Tess's own name could end up on the ever-expanding list of Baltimore dead.

Summary: "Dull but great writing style"
I first found Laura Lippman on Facebook. After reading her book summaries, I decided to pick up her first novel, "Baltimore Blues." While the book was well written, I found it to be a little dull. It's more of a detective fiction novel, something similar to Sue Grafon's Alphabet Series' detective, Kinsey Millhone. Compared to Kinsey, however, I found Tess to be immature, lazy, and unorganized. I would compare her to Janet Evanovich's character, Stephanie Plum. Tess seems to be floating through life, leaning on family and friends for support.
But I've read reviews of Lippman's other books and I will continue to read her books. From previous reviews I have read, it sounds like her character, Tess, grows and develops into an admirable character, and the stories keep getting better. I admired Lippman's writing style as well as her talent for description.

Summary: "A Letdown for Rowers"
I read about one novel per decade. I picked up this one, having heard that it has characters who are rowers. (I myself row.) I was astonished, however, to encounter on page 10 a passage in which two rowers are in singles and one reaches out to touch the other. This is simply impossible to do! In fact, because of the way the oars and riggers stick out, it is impossible for two boats, side by side, to be more than eight feet from each other, and even then, there would be danger of capsizing one or both boats in subsequently separating them. Conclusion: the author, who has made her main character a rower, knows next to nothing about rowing! She has thus violated the cardinal rule of Creative Writing 101: write what you know about. I stopped reading.
This won't, I realize, be an issue for non-rowers, but rowers who seek a novel about rowing would be well advised to look elsewhere!

Summary: "Very average so-so"
I didn't find anything wonderful about BALTIMORE BLUES. The story unfolded OK and the mystery plot was somewhat satisfying, though not very. But worst of all I disliked the heroine, Tess. She seems to be quite a loser, especially the way she sleeps around. Not my cup of tea.

Summary: "A bad beginning for a bad series; thoroughly messed up heroine"
I didn't like the irrelevant bits about marijuana, her messed up relationship with Jonathon or her stupidity when it came to Rock, but the mystery was interesting.
Note: Charm City: A Tess Monaghan Novel was absolutely horrendous; therefore, knowing Lippman doesn't improve I wouldn't pick this one up either. What I had hoped was just a rough start to a good series turned out to be a bad beginning for a bad series, so don't waste your time with this one either.

Summary: "Read all of them"
Because I'm a lazy git I don't really feel like writing reviews for every single one of Laura Lippman's books. So the above 5 Stars are meant to encompass not just "Baltimore Blues" but all of the Tess Monaghan series and all of her stand alone novels. I've read all of them to date and they're all excellent. Like, top-notch, well-researched, non-formulaic worthy reads.
